Swindon, U.K. and College Park, MD; April 4, 2003 - Advent Publishing Systems today announced it has made a number of senior management appointments intended to help accelerate the growth of the company and its business of supplying cutting-edge publishing technology to global corporate clients. These appointments will enable Advent to further enhance its position as a leading supplier of publishing software and integrated solutions worldwide.
Iain Johnston, who was previously a non-executive director of the company, has now assumed the role of Chairman and will now devote a significant portion of his time to Advent. Johnston has previously grown two other technology businesses from start-up to multi-million pound public companies, and remains a non-executive director in a number of other fast growing businesses.
Lawrie Stevens is moving from his current position as Sales Director to the position of Chief Technology Officer. This move will enable Advent to take better advantage of Stevens' extensive knowledge of the company, its products and marketplace, and other related technologies, and to leverage his experience in the identification and development of new business and product opportunities.
Michael O'Neill recently joined Advent as Sales and Marketing Director for the Group. O'Neill is leading an ambitious campaign to ensure customers and prospects take advantage of the significant competitive and cost-saving benefits that Advent 3B2 software delivers.
O'Neill has extensive experience in sales operations at a number of well-known companies including 3M, Computer Associates, and Concur Technologies, where he started as a sales representative and progressed into senior management. He has also been an active participant in the growth of a number of successful businesses.
The fourth major management appointment is that of Finance Director. Shane Horsell joins Advent after six years at Blick UK Ltd., a supplier of software and communication solutions. Horsell brings extensive experience in strategy formulation to Advent, which he has used to help grow companies both organically and through acquisition.
