March 31, 2003 -- Banta Publications Group is very pleased to announce the promotion of Alan Duncan to Vice President/General Manager of Banta Publications Group-Long Prairie Division. Alan will assume this important leadership role following a deliberate and planned succession. For almost two years Alan has worked hand in hand with Mark Deterding, Executive V.P. Manufacturing (Group) on the leadership of the Long Prairie Division, and he has fully shown his readiness for this position. In his new role Alan will assume responsibility for all of Long Prairie's functional areas, and he will continue to report to Mark. Alan joined Banta on June 12, 2001 in the role of Plant Manager. During this time Alan has helped lead Long Prairie to new levels of manufacturing performance, as well as nurtured solid relationships with employees and customers. Prior to joining Banta, Alan spent thirteen years in a variety of leadership positions in the printing industry. He began his career as an Electrical Engineer working for R.R. Donnelley in their Crawfordsville, Indiana facility. He then served RRD as Senior Electrical Engineer and Manufacturing Manager at their Crawfordsville plant, Project Lead Division Startup at their Roanoke, Virginia plant, and General Manager /Division Director of Manufacturing at their Allentown, Pennsylvania plant. Most recently before coming to Banta, Alan was Director of Manufacturing and Sales for Mimeo, Inc in Memphis, Tennessee.
