Standard Finishing: Sheets-On-Demand System For Cut-Sheet Print Engines

Press release from the issuing company

Andover, Massachusetts – At On Demand, April 7–9 in New York City, Standard Finishing Systems will introduce the Standard Hunkeler SF4-H Roll-to-sheet Feeder, in the Ikon and Canon booths. Designed exclusively for the Canon imageRUNNER 110 and imageRUNNER Pro 150+, the Heidelberg Digimaster 9110/9150, and the IBM infoprint 2000 high-speed digital printing systems, the SF4-H provides up to 40,000 cut sheets per roll, for up to 18 hours of non-stop printing. One key benefit is the ability of the SF4-H system to supply both 8.5” x 11” and 11” x 17” sheets from the same 11”-wide paper roll, without any need for a roll change. The SF4-H is comprised of two major sub-components: the core-driven, quick set-up unwinder, and the high-speed rotary cutter, which automatically cuts sheets from either pre-printed or unprocessed paper rolls. Customers using a roll-to-sheet system save time and labor by avoiding the continual reloading of the printer paper trays with ream-wrapped paper. This allows the printer to run virtually non-stop. Roll paper is also less expensive than ream-wrapped paper. In addition, the Standard Hunkeler SF4-H is environmentally friendly, as customers don’t have to dispose of empty ream wrapping and paper boxes. According to David Reny, vice president and managing director, Standard Finishing Systems, the SF4-H is the perfect solution for high-volume 7/24 print on demand operations where paper costs, increased productivity, fast turnaround, printer up-time, cutting accuracy, and system reliability are absolutely critical. A touch screen interface and tool-less setup insure smooth changeover and minimal operator involvement. The system has been designed for a minimum footprint, ease of operation and unparalleled reliability, and features a consistently accurate cutting system, so every sheet is identical and perfectly square. Standard Finishing Systems, a division of Standard Duplicating Machines Corporation, is based in Andover, Massachusetts. Standard, a leading supplier of print finishing systems and reprographic equipment, markets its products through an independent dealer network and a direct sales team in the United States and Canada.
