Press release from the issuing company

February 10, 2003 -- The inaugural Labelexpo China, being held at the Intex Exhibition Centre in Shanghai on 9th-11th December this year, has already generated a great deal of interest in the world of labels both within China and internationally. Major press manufacturers that have confirmed they will be exhibiting include Gallus, Mark Andy, Nilpeter, Douglas Hanson, HP Indigo, Labelmen, Lintec and Rotoflex – along with materials and technology suppliers Ahlstrom, Akzo Nobel Inks, Alphasonics, Avery Dennison, Intercoat, RK Print, Prochem, Zeller & Gmellin, JM Heaford, Open Data, Polyonics, Printex SRL, Ritrama, Rotometrics, UCB, Unilux, GEW and Vacmet Packaging. In addition, more than another 100 other suppliers have expressed a serious interest in the show. The exhibition will run alongside the Labelexpo China Conference, providing an opportunity to share ideas and best practice about national and international labelling standards, global branding issues, advances in label materials, pre-press and production technology and machinery, as well as the latest requirements for logistics and distribution labelling. Mike Fairley, leading label industry expert, and Andy Thomas, the widely respected Editor of Labels & Labelling magazine, have been putting together the conference programme. Speakers will be predominantly drawn from the Chinese market and include government officials, global brand owners, suppliers and printers – and some label printer case histories and success stories will be included. Further details regarding the conference will be announced shortly. Roger Pellow, Labelexpo Director, said, “We are delighted with the direction the first Labelexpo China is taking. We are aiming to create a real opportunity for those involved in, or wanting to be involved in, the industry in China – clearly one of the largest, and fastest growing, emerging markets for the world of labels. With so many leading industry players involved the event is lining up to be a fantastic success.”
