Dallas – (December 9, 2002) -This past month, the Association’s membership approved a slate of officers and directors who will serve as the Association’s volunteer leadership for the next fiscal year. The 20 volunteer leaders represent a broad spectrum of the industry -- from both a manufacturing and regional perspective.
The Association’s incoming chairman will be John Frullo. John is vice president of Midtown Printing & Graphics, Inc. owned by him and his wife Patty. Midtown is a full-service commercial printer offering high quality retail and wholesale printing solutions. Located in Lubbock, Texas, the firm employs 17 people, and has been providing printing and graphic services for its clients since 1968. John has served on the Association’s board of directors for the past five years and is the second printer from Lubbock, Texas, to hold the chief elected position of the Association. The first was Ross Hester with Caprock Business Forms who served in 1989. John, a graduate of the University of Wyoming, is a father of two boys (8 and 9 years old), a Little League baseball coach, a private pilot, and a member of Rotary International, as well as the American Institute of CPAs.
Chuck Chalifoux will serve as the Association’s vice chairman. Chuck is the president and CEO of ColorDynamics. The company has been operating in Allen, Texas since 1984 as a general commercial web and sheetfed printer. They have over 200 employees and provide prepress, pressroom, bindery and packaging resources for their customers. Chalifoux joined the company in 1994 as executive vice-president and is now the president of ColorDynamics and its parent company RCL Enterprises. Chuck has held board and officer positions with the Association, as well as serving as a Trustee for the Nolan Moore Memorial Education Foundation. In 1999 he served as the Foundation’s golf chairman for its annual fund-raising event when $50,000 was raised for student scholarships. Chuck is a graduate of Western Michigan University and has held several management and sales management positions with mid-west companies Photopress, Inc., and Bradley Printing Company.
The Association’s 2nd vice chairman is David DeLana. David is the president and CEO of Heritage Press, a full service sheetfed printing company, founded in 1974. Its 50,000 square foot facility is located in El Reno, Oklahoma, near Oklahoma City. David is the first Oklahoma printer to serve as an officer of PIA-MidAmerica. He was actively involved with the Graphic Communications Industries Association of Oklahoma which merged in 2000 with PIA-Texas to create today’s PIA-MidAmerica. David serves on the PIA/GATF national board of directors and is a board member of Master Printers of America. He also serves on the PIA/GATF Budget & Finance committee. David is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and has been active within his own community serving as a city councilman as well as on the boards of several civic groups. He and his wife Janice have been married 34 years and he is a father of two daughters and the grandfather of four.
The officer position of secretary will be filled by Michael Wurst, who is the president and CEO of Henry Wurst, Inc., located in N. Kansas City, Missouri.
John Barry will fill the position of treasurer. John is the owner and president of Jay Kay Press, Dallas, Texas. John Snyder, the Association’s present chairman, will serve as an officer of the Association and hold the position of immediate past-chairman. John is the president of Johnston Printing Company, Dallas, Texas.
