Reston, VA - Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC) announced that Sonia O'Donnell has been named Manager, New Business Development. In her newly created position, Ms. O'Donnell will develop specialized exhibit platforms and related educational forums for all GASC venues designed to showcase technology opportunities for printers seeking diversification. "Technology has forced the printing industry to think in terms of content management in addition to ink on paper. Finding new opportunities and developing custom solutions will help printers stay competitive in the years to come. GASC is strongly committed to uncovering those opportunities and presenting them to the industry," O'Donnell explains. Before joining GASC O'Donnell was Director of Marketing and Association Development for the Digital Printing and Imaging Association. Previously, as Assistant Director of Print Production and Quality Control for Mill Pond Press, she managed the production process and technical issues involved in digitally producing limited edition fine art prints, as well as all supporting collateral material. A graduate of Rhode Island College and Vesper George in Boston, O'Donnell began her printing career setting hot type for a small daily newspaper in Southern Maine. In 1980, leaving the design studio she founded, she joined the Photo Products division of Dupont as a color proofing specialists. Later, as Director of Marketing for Coulter Systems, she worked closely with scientists developing a digital laser film recorder. "With her history in printing and digital imaging technology, Sonia is able to help us find and showcase the new profit opportunities our attendees need," noted Regis J.
