Reston, VA - Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC) announces that the popular VUE/POINT Conference will be widening the appeal of the conference beyond the traditional prepress-oriented subject matter, by broadening the marketing appeal and topic list to include a wider range of subject matter relevant to print professionals.
"VUE/POINT has been around for 14 years, and in that time the conference has grown and matured into a very strong event where graphic arts professionals of all types can learn from their peers and colleagues about challenges and issues they face on a daily basis, and to collaboratively find solutions within the graphic communications community. This year's program is shaping up to be a particularly strong one for a variety of market sectors, and we felt that we ought to make the program accessible to an even broader range of professionals throughout the industry," said Regis J. Delmontagne, president of GASC. This year's conference will be held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Northwest Washington, DC, March 31 - April 2, 2003.
Previous year's registration materials have focused on the technological nature of some of the discussions occurring at the Conference, which offers open forum panel discussions rather than structured seminar programs to deliver the information to attendees. This year the conference materials will focus more on the level of human interaction the conference offers, and the opportunity the high level of interaction represents for attendees to gain practical usable information.
Attendees to the event have the opportunity to ask questions and gather information from sponsoring vendors through a series of manufacturer-hosted breakfast and evening functions. Manufacturers' reps are readily available and easily accessible to attendees with questions or ideas.
"The new wider topic range is a terrific way to attract first-time attendees to the event, and to update the focus of the event for those who have been before, but not in the last few years. We've broadened the topic base beyond prepress and made the sessions more far reaching and relevant to a wider range of attendees," noted Mike Vinocur, Manager for the event.
The open forum format and high quality of content at the 2003 conference will remain as it has been in the past. Attendees to this event take away a significant amount of practical information they can put to use immediately to help expand their capabilities build their business, run jobs more efficiently and make them more profitable. Topics this year include discussions of the latest approaches to PDF workflows, updates on advances in computer integrated manufacturing for print, how to add fulfillment services, plate technologies, variable data printing, and Web-enabling your business.
