PARAMUS, N.J., Nov. 27, 2002 – Printers now have access to the latest costing information for their sheetfed press and digital prepress operations with the release of updated Sheetfed Press and Digital Prepress editions of CS InterACT, the software version of the famed "Blue Book" Hourly Cost Studies from the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL).
The 2002 editions of CS InterACT-SF, for sheetfed press operations, and CS InterACT-PR, for digital prepress, are based on new data collected this year from industry manufacturers and distributors. Each interactive disk contains all the information found in the latest, industry-standard book versions of NAPL’s Hourly Cost Studies, but allows users to plug in their own exact cost factors and compute accurate, customized hourly rates in just minutes. Users can change more than 50 data fields, with rates updated automatically. Each CD contains both Windows* and MAC** versions.
The largest sheetfed cost study ever published by NAPL, CS InterACT-SF (ND 109) encompasses 520 machines from 25 different manufacturers, including 448 conventional sheetfed presses, from the smallest one-unit models to the largest, 12-unit configurations. Also included are 19 digital imaging presses and 53 digital duplicators/copier-printers.
CS InterACT-PR (ND 111) contains hourly cost rates, specifications, and prices for nearly 250 prepress devices in 18 equipment categories. A bonus software section provides descriptions, prices, and system requirements for more than 65 prepress software titles.
CS InterACT is also available for Web Press (ND 104) and Bindery & Finishing (ND 110) operations. All the editions are extremely user friendly, with all instructions on the screen and easy navigation. Help topics appear at the click of a button.
CS InterACT software editions are available to NAPL members for $99 each (non-member price: $249). To order, call (800) 642-6275, Option 3; fax (201) 634-0328; email
