Aspermont Produces Titles With WoodWing

Press release from the issuing company

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia  - Aspermont Limited, an Australian and European based media company producing information services through print, conference and online media channels, has experienced significant improvements in their production flowchart, after switching to WoodWing’s Enterprise content publishing platform.

“In 2007, we recognized the need to streamline our production facilities and so we began our research into a suitable editorial system,” said Greg Tubby, Australian Managing Editor for Aspermont Limited. “We submitted a tender document to various suppliers, and Creative Folks, a WoodWing Authorized Solution Partner in the region, came up with the most ideal solution – WoodWing Enterprise.”

Aspermont Limited produces 17 in-house publications, including its local flagship magazine Australia’s Mining Monthly, established over 25 years ago. The company’s other titles include the 175-year-old Mining Journal, the industry’s leading weekly newspaper produced in the UK.

Aspermont reaches its audience in a variety of ways, delivering content through print, conferencing and online media channels. “That made Enterprise an ideal choice for Aspermont,” said Remco Koster, Managing Director of WoodWing Asia Pacific. “They needed an editorial system that allowed them to seamlessly push their content to any channel, and that’s the strength of Enterprise. Aspermont is a true multimedia company, and WoodWing’s blended media concept fit their needs perfectly.”

“The tender was a little tricky,” said Matthew Green, Managing Director at Creative Folks. “The document called for an editorial solution based around Adobe InDesign that incorporated flat planning and digital asset management. WoodWing Enterprise was the obvious choice, partnered with van Gennep PlanMaker fE and Opix Media Warehouse.”

Officials at Aspermont were quickly sold on Enterprise. “Creative Folks showed us a Web presentation of the proposed workflow and we were convinced,” Tubby said. “We visited the team in Sydney and were very impressed with their professionalism and knowledge of editorial workflows.”

Staffers on both sides say the implementation has gone extremely well. “Aspermont’s editorial, production and IT staff have made our jobs very easy,” said Andrew Lomas, Project/Sales Director at Creative Folks. “Their willingness to learn several new applications and their grasp of the processes involved has greatly influenced the integration of the new system.”

The early results have been impressive. “Our new editorial system has made significant improvements to our production flowchart,” Tubby said. “With a lot less steps in the process, we are really beginning to notice improvements in productivity. I would have no hesitation to recommend Creative Folks and WoodWing.”
