Labelexpo and BPC On-site Together in Brussels

Press release from the issuing company

Labelexpo Europe 03, the premier biennial international labels and narrow web packaging event, and BPC Europe 03, the complete European event for the filling and decorating of bottles and cans, will both take place at the Parcs des Exposition, Brussels on 24th – 27th September 2003. With a total of nearly 600 exhibiting companies, covering a combined exhibition space of over 30,000 net square metres and a collective attendance of around 20,000 visitors, the co-located shows will provide even further stimulus to the world of labels, bringing label and label application innovation, product filling and decoration, and logistics label solutions to the industry and end user. The fifteenth Labelexpo Europe is set to be the biggest event yet, with nearly 15,000 visitors expected. The event attracts buyers from all the major European markets including Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Scandinavia, and the UK – as well as internationally. Visitors to Labelexpo Europe have indisputable buying power. In 2001, 34% of visitors were ‘final decision makers’, and a further 38% were ‘major influencers’. In addition, the event is starting to attract more buyers from high growth markets in Eastern Europe including Hungary, Poland, Russia, and the Czech Republic. BPC, the third show but first to be held outside the UK, is set to at least double in size. Global brand owners and national and international retail groups drive the demand for ever more sophisticated bottle and can filling, decorating, packaging and shipping. Visitors will now be able to see everything they need to evaluate and plan future investment in bottle blowing, bottle and can line technology, filling, capping, and new pack decorating solutions – and the whole field of logistics labelling with bar codes, sequential numbering, batch and date coding, track and trace solutions. In addition to the two exhibitions, a three-day series of seminars will be held on-site covering the major issues facing these sectors – with the third day featuring an emphasis on decoration. With high profile industry speakers, the Labelexpo conferences have become well known as the leading forum for education and ideas sharing. Roger Pellow, Labels Group Managing Director, said, "The initial response from exhibitors and visitors to the two co-located shows has been extremely positive. In an increasingly challenging market, and business environment, these two key industry sector shows will keep the label, narrow web, pre-press, filling, decoration and logistics handling industries at the forefront of the relevant brand and product marketing investment programmes. We are very much looking forward to both Labelexpo Europe 03 and BPC Europe 03."
