ALEXANDRIA, VA (October 25, 2002) – The Label Printing Industry Association (LPIA) Fall Management Conference, held September 14-17, 2002 at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada was another successful meeting. More than 100 printers, suppliers, speakers and spouses attended the conference.
The Fall Conference theme was Print, People, Profit... Growing Your Business. Attendees heard excellent presentations on the current state and potential future of sales compensation and relation to e-business and participated in a particularly interesting panel discussion on the topic.
Other topics included a state of the industry report on package printing 2001-2005, supply chain management, financial metrics of your label printing business, legislative update and information on the European Label Manufacturers Association. Stedman Graham led the audience through a nine-step plan for success and Dr Kevin Freiberg discussed leadership in a nutshell - learning from Southwest Airlines’ best practices.
"The conference was excellent. With the label printing industry having it’s own unique needs, LPIA put together a conference that provided valuable tools and information that I can’t get anywhere else. An added benefit are the social aspects of the meeting that provided attendees ample opportunities for networking and interaction," said Jack Turan, Vice President, National Accounts, Hammer Lithograph Corporation, Rochester, NY.
