Press release from the issuing company
for Consolidated Graphics' 66 Companies in North America
CHICAGO (GRAPH EXPO), October 6, 2002 ˆ Consolidated Graphics (CGX), the largest sheetfed and half-web commercial printing company in the United States, and CGXmedia, the electronic solutions arm of CGX, have teamed with RealTimeImage to bring the RealTimeProof online proofing and approval management system to CGX's sixty-six companies and their thousands of customers.
After extensive testing and production use of RealTimeProof in two of its printing companies, CGX plans to widely implement and broadly expand the capabilities of its companies by using the RealTimeImage system. CGXmedia and RealTimeImage have put together an implementation plan to deploy RealTimeProof throughout CGX's 66 locations.
"We've removed the barriers to entry and created a method for our companies and their clients to use this state-of-the-art, online proofing system," says Darrell Whitley, President of CGXmedia. Referring to two CGX locations which initially adopted the RealTimeImage technology, he says, "Mount Vernon in Landover, Maryland and The Printery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, reported that the reception from their customers has been phenomenal. It makes sense for all of our companies to offer this technology to their customers; the partnership with RealTimeImage allows us to do just that.
"Based on our experience to date with RealTimeProof, we are confident that this product will significantly reduce our turnaround time and costs, in addition to increasing customer satisfaction."
RealTimeImage powers the world's most accurate and rapid online proofing and approval management solutions. RealTimeProof-based technology dramatically reduces the costs and time required for conventional proofing by enabling all workflow partners to collaborate securely, in real time, on original, full-resolution production images. Unique image-streaming technology enables gigabytes of high- resolution files to be viewed, even over dial-up connections, in seconds.
"Everyone at RealTimeImage is excited about the opportunity to further deploy our award-winning application and service across the locations operated by CGX," says Yehuda Messinger, Executive Vice President, Graphic Arts, for RealTimeImage. "We are honored to meet the requirements of a top tier print establishment like CGX, and we look forward to supporting their success in adopting RealTimeProof."
