Printcafe To Outline New JDF-Based Products in CIP4 Seminars

Printcafe to Provide A Technical Update To Developers on New JDF-based Press Connector and Prepress Connector Add-on Modules
PITTSBURGH, PA (October 4th, 2002) Printcafe Software, Inc. [NASDAQ: PCAF], the operating system for print, has announced that Tim Daisy, product manager for computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) solutions, and Doug Belkofer, director of third party integration, will speak at two CIP4 seminars on October 8th at Graph Expo in Chicago, IL.
Mr. Daisy, who has over ten years of experience in cycle time reduction and business process improvement, will speak on the panel "What is CIP4's JDF and how can it help my print workflow?" be held from 1:00pm to 3:50pm. Daisy will outline Printcafe Press Connector, a new Job Definition Format (JDF) based integration module which links Printcafe print management systems with third-party production equipment and will answer printers’ questions about JDF's practical benefits.
"The JDF standard represents an opportunity for the printing industry to further streamline operations and remove wasted time and effort from the planning and production process, " said Daisy. Mr. Belkofer, who represents Printcafe at international CIP4 technical meetings, will speak at the second seminar entitled, "Developer's Seminar, technical panel and status of CIP4's JDF" and will provide an overview for technical developers. Topics will include a summary of JDF 1.1 updates, and PPML with JDF support. This seminar will be held from 4pm until 5pm. The seminars are open to all Graph Expo exhibition attendees at no additional charge. Both sessions will be held on October 8th, in Room N229, located in the North Building, Level 2, McCormick Place.
