Banta: Don Belcher Named to Printing Industry Hall of Fame

MENASHA, WI -- September 2002 -- Donald D. Belcher, Banta Corporation’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, has been named to the Printing Industry Hall of Fame. In a ceremony on October 7 in Chicago, Belcher and three other inductees will be honored for their leadership, influence, long-term dedication and overall contributions to the printing industry.
Banta President and Chief Operating Officer Stephanie A. Streeter says the induction of Belcher into the Hall of Fame recognizes his outstanding career and leadership attributes. "Don exemplifies a values-based management approach to business and he has been a great spokesperson for the printing industry," says Streeter.
"Throughout Don’s career, he has been a leader of integrity and strategic vision. His energy, enthusiasm and passionate pursuit of excellence have helped enlarge Banta’s print industry leadership, intensify our focus on providing customers with value-added services and expand the corporation’s global presence. Belcher joined Banta Corporation in 1994 as President and Chief Operating Officer. He was named President and Chief Executive Officer in January 1995, assuming the additional role of Chairman in May 1995.
Belcher holds an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a BA from Dartmouth College.
In addition to Banta, he serves on the Board of Directors for Hunt Corporation, Philadelphia, Penn., Fellowes Manufacturing, Itasca, Ill., and ZOOTS, Newton, Mass.
In addition, he has served as Trustee for Scripps College, Claremont, Calif., and Lawrence University, Appleton, Wis., and as President for both the Bay-Lakes Council (Wis.) and San Gabriel Valley Council (Calif.) of the Boy Scouts of America. Belcher currently serves as President of the Central Region, Boy Scouts of America, and is a recipient of the Silver Beaver, Silver Antelope and Distinguished Eagle Scout Awards. Belcher received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in May 2001.
The Printing Industry Hall of Fame is co-sponsored by Printing Impressions magazine and the Rochester Institute of Technology School of Printing Management and Sciences. Inductees are selected by the executive directors of Printing Impressions and RIT, as well as the major printing industry associations: Printing Industry of America, Graphic Arts Technical Foundation, National Association of Printers and Lithographers, and the Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies.
The other 2002 Hall of Fame inductees are: Robert Krehbiel III, The C.J. Krehbiel Co., Cincinnati, Ohio; Ray Scholler, Times Printing, Random Lake, Wis.; and, Michael Simon, Publishers Printing/Press, Shepherdsville, Ky.
