She is an active member in several student organizations, including the International Club of Printing House Craftsmen. As Treasurer, she co-wrote and produced a magazine about the club's trip to PRINT '01 last September. The magazine won second place in the Society for Technical Writing report competition, a first for the RIT School of Printing. Upon graduation, Kaplan plans to pursue a career in upper management at a leading graphic communications company. EDSF's John A. Lopiano Scholarship is awarded to a junior, senior or advanced college student who is pursuing a degree in the field of document communications. Priority consideration is given to students who work in or whose family member has worked or currently works in a segment of the high volume computer output (HVCO) industry.
