Visual Systems received two awards for its self-promotional "Natural Color Hexachrome“ Print Series." The pieces within the series include a six-color process instead of the traditional four-color process. Visual Systems was also recognized for its "Elements of Writing, Fourth Edition," a softbound book cover printed for Holt, Rinehart and Winston; and "Science Grade 2 Transparencies," a four-color overhead transparency program in a printed envelope for McGraw Hill School Division.
