ATLANTA--Aug. 8, 2002--T/R SYSTEMS, INC., a leader in developing innovative solutions for the management and production of digital documents, announced that Joseph R. Chinnici has been appointed to the Company's Board of Directors. "We are delighted that Joe has agreed to join the Board," said Mike Kohlsdorf, President and CEO. "He brings a wealth of financial and business experience to T/R and we look forward to working with him." Mr. Chinnici is currently Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of CIENA Corporation, a leading provider of intelligent optical networking systems and software. Mr. Chinnici joined CIENA shortly after its founding in 1994, serving initially as Controller. In May of 1995 he became Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, a position he held until August of 1997, at which time he assumed his current role. He served on the board of directors for OTG Software, a leading provider of data storage, data access and email management solutions, until its recent acquisition by Legato Systems, Inc. He holds a B.S. degree in accounting from Villanova University and an M.B.A. from Southern Illinois University. Mr. Chinnici is replacing Peter Sealey as a member of the Board of Directors, due to Mr. Sealey's recent retirement.
