The patent issued (U.S. 6,396,593) covers the components necessary to convert a graphic image file from PostScript to bitmap format. This patent allows ImageX to provide customers with accurate, high-fidelity bitmap proofs online, ensuring that users without access to a PDF viewer can see accurate graphic proofs of their orders before releasing to production. Additionally, this ability helps ImageX provide a near-zero error rate -- compared with the 7-20% print industry standard error rate.
