ATLANTA--Feb. 25, 2002--T/R SYSTEMS announced today the appointment of Michael Liess as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In this capacity, Mr. Liess will oversee the Company's sales, marketing and operations activities. "Michael is a seasoned and effective executive who I'm certain will contribute significantly to our future success.'' Mr. Liess will report directly to Mr. Kohlsdorf. Mr. Liess has more than 15 years of high technology experience, with a successful track record in sales, customer operations,marketing and business operations. His most recent position was with computer manufacturer Gateway, Inc. as Vice President of Direct Sales, where he oversaw a massive restructuring of the sales organization. Prior to joining Gateway, he served as Vice President & General Manager, World Wide Sales and Field Marketing for ENCAD, Inc., the color digital imaging company known for its bundled solutions including printer systems, software, inks and media. Before joining ENCAD, he held various positions with Oce-USA, the imaging technology company whose products include hardware, software and after-market supplies, service and consulting. There, he helped establish the company's presence in the U.S. and Latin America. He began his career at Xerox, holding several management positions. Mr. Liess received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Rochester.
