FAIRFAX, VA– February 25, 2002 Digital graphics firms are becoming more focused and more specialized, according to data collected for the new DPI 2002 Markets Survey Report, recently published by the Digital Printing & Imaging Association (DPI). Copies may be purchased through DPI headquarters.
"Every other year we update our data to give you what we consider is a timely snapshot of the current markets we serve in the digital graphics industry," explains John S. Shaw, Managing Director of DPI. "If you want up-to-date industry profile data to help you target your marketing and business planning efforts, then this is the report for you."
The DPI 2002 Markets Survey was conducted among 3,200 digital graphics producers (digital printers) throughout the United States.
Of those firms who responded to the survey: the average size is 33 employees; more than 18% have been in business 10 years and longer; while 57% have been in business less than two full years. Digital output accounts for 47% of their total revenues.
Report highlights include:
* Advertising agencies are the most frequently cited type of client for digital graphics firms. The segment is shrinking, however, from 65% two years ago to 59% this year, continuing a downward trend.
* The largest segment of respondents do business primarily within their local market; the was the response of 33%of the survey sample, down from the previous survey.
