Press release from the issuing company

New Sponsors Include HP and Kodak Polychrome SOLANA BEACH, CA, January 3, 2002 – Printable Technologies, the leading online software provider for the graphic arts industry, has launched a major upgrade to its PrintPlanet (www.printplanet.com) e-Community Website, introducing many new features and an exciting new look for enhanced user experience. Representing the first major upgrade to PrintPlanet since Printable acquired it last September, the new enhancements include a re-designed user interface, a new membership control center, easier-to-read threaded discussion and message listings, and a new, faster, SQL-based database. PrintPlanet also has several new sponsors, including Hewlett-Packard and Kodak Polychrome Graphics. Dave Mainwaring, managing director of PrintPlanet, notes, "PrintPlanet has doubled in membership each year for the last four years, and we expect that trend to continue. With the addition of these new features, we’re making the user experience better. In the process, we're also building in reliability and performance to allow the community to grow over the next few years." Chuck Gehman, executive vice president and CTO of Printable, says, "PrintPlanet has become a virtual institution in the industry. The membership depends on us to deliver the resources they need to learn about technologies and techniques, to network with their peers, and to interact with vendors in a professional on-line environment." "With the constant change in the industry today," Gehman adds, "the value of PrintPlanet has never been more apparent. We’re glad that we’ve been able to leverage our core competencies in online software to benefit the community at large." Mr. Mainwaring observes, "We are very pleased to have several major new PrintPlanet sponsors in 2002. We are proud that these leading companies are joining the many other fine organizations that appreciate the value of PrintPlanet and support our efforts for the industry's advancement." Printable plans to launch a significant number of new discussion forums on PrintPlanet during 2002, and currently is structuring agreements with partners on several new projects. Rollout of the new forums will start in February 2002, and additional features will be added to the website during the year as well. Printable's PrintPlanet continues to be open to exploring opportunities for partnering with industry associations, manufacturers and news media. Printable also is interested in establishing new online forums comparable to the major partner forums currently in operation for DDAP and the IPA (International Prepress Association).
