Konica Enters Marketing Agreement With Xenos

Press release from the issuing company

WINDSOR, Conn., and TORONTO--Dec. 10, 2001-- Konica Business Technologies, a subsidiary of Konica Corporation, has announced a marketing alliance with Xenos, a provider of transformation software. The Xenos d2e Platform is software that transforms printstream data (such as IBM AFP, Xerox Metacode and HP PCL) in documents such as bills, invoices and statements, into other printstreams, as well as Web-ready formats including XML, HTML and PDF. By recommending Xenos' software, Konica will be able to provide its corporate customers with an easy and rapid `on host' software solution to complement its line of award-winning printers, and its `off-host' solution, the Barr Enterprise Print Server (BEPS) by Barr Systems. "By providing Xenos' next-generation transformation software, we are extending the reach of our digital imaging solutions, helping customers to enhance productivity, reduce costs and bring new e-business initiatives to market faster,'' said Kevin Kern, vice president, product development and support, Konica Business Technologies. "Xenos' software is a valuable enhancement to our current offerings, allowing us to deliver an `on-host' solution that meets the needs of customers who want to avoid the costs associated with changing existing applications, or new systems development. '' Through the use of Xenos' software, both printstream and database data is transformed into Web-ready formats within a single integrated platform, enabling e-business applications such as enterprise content management (ECM), electronic statement presentment (ESP), and electronic bill/invoice presentment and payment (EBPP/EIPP). "We are delighted to partner with an innovator in digital imaging solutions,'' said Stuart Butts, chairman and CEO of Xenos. "This exciting new agreement will allow large organizations to benefit from rapid transformation of their printstream data, thereby reducing their print costs, and providing them with the ability to transform documents into compelling e-content for their e-business initiatives. Xenos will be working closely with Konica's global sales force to develop new business opportunities that demonstrate the powerful combination of Xenos' software and Konica's high-volume printers.''
