Press release from the issuing company
MONTREAL, Dec. 10 Domtar says they have been included for a third consecutive year in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Indexes (DJSI World).
"The key of Domtar's success over the last five years has been without a doubt the ability of our employees at all levels to focus on meeting the needs of customers. By being customer focused, we have inevitably made better, more environmentally sound products, offered superior returns to our shareholders, and provided greater economic and social stability to our employees and their communities. I am very proud that these efforts and their results have been recognised by the prestigious Dow Jones'', said Raymond Royer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Domtar.
The SAM Research Group, which acts as auditor for Dow Jones noted that Domtar has a very good overall sustainability performance. Among other things, SAM praised Domtar for the innovative lead it has taken with regard to communicating its forestry management initiatives on the web. Domtar is one of only five paper companies throughout the world to participate in the DJSI World. Also, it is the highest ranking of only two North American companies in the index family. Dow Jones Sustainability World Indexes is the first index family tracking the performance of sustainability driven companies worldwide.
