Mortsel, Belgium - December 5, 2001 - Agfa Gevaert announces that Mr Wout van der Kooij has offered his resignation due to personal reasons. Mr van der Kooij is a member of the Board of Management and Labor Director in the group's affiliate AG in Germany. He is also a Director of Agfa Gevaert NV and a member of the group's Board of Management.
The Board of Directors (Aufsichtsrat) of Agfa Gevaert AG has in its meeting of December 5th, accepted his resignation and thanked Mr van der Kooij for the efforts and energy with which he has performed his functions.
In the same meeting, the Aufsichtsrat also appointed Mr Jesper Otto Möller as his successor as from January 1st, 2002. Mr Möller will be based in Leverkusen and will be responsible for the business group Consumer Imaging. He will also assume the function of 'Arbeitsdirektor' (Labor Director) in Agfa Gevaert AG.
Mr Möller's membership of the group's Board of Management will be proposed to the Board of Directors of Agfa Gevaert NV in its meeting of December, 17th.
Mr Jesper O. Möller is fifty years old and a citizen of Denmark. After his studies in economic and commercial sciences, he started his career with East Asiatic Company in Denmark. In 1971, he joined Bayer, where he had several functions in the agrochemicals division.
In 1991 he moved to Agfa as the managing director of the Swedish sales organization. In 1993 he became managing director of the Agfa Scandinavia region, which was extended in 1995 to become the Agfa Nordic region.
In 1998, he became managing director for the Greater China region, based in Hong Kong, which later formed part of the Asia/Pacific region. Apart from Danish, his mother tongue, Mr Möller speaks fluent English, German and Swedish.
