Rochester, NY, September 25 -- A new solution that leverages CREO Color Server Technology from Kodak's Print On-Demand Solutions Group makes it easy for digital printers to enter the photo services market. The production performance, speed, and automation features of CREO Color Servers' Photo Touch-up Software enable it to seamlessly integrate into a print service provider's existing workflow, saving time, labor and costs associated with making corrections to images.
Photo Touch-up Software automatically analyzes, corrects and enhances the content of images, optimizing the quality of photo books, calendars, yearbooks, postcards and other image rich applications produced on a digital press, all at production speeds. Using a set of intelligent tools that users activate by simply checking a box, Photo Touch-up Software automatically evaluates digital photos and scanned archival images to determine if they require correcting, and, if so, makes adjustments only to precise areas within the image. Corrections are done in batches, rather than one at a time, for additional time savings. CREO Color Servers with Photo Touch-up Software will be shown at Graph Expo in October.
"Photo Touch-up Software serves as another way that a CREO Color Server connected to a digital press can help print providers expand into new business opportunities, such as photo finishing and services," said Ilana Jucha, General Manager, CREO Branded Products. "The faster processing time and vibrancy of images produced using Photo Touch-up Software create a powerful solution that offers the potential for greater revenue and profitability without adding labor costs or processing time."
Photo Touch-up Software includes a range of features for enhancing images, such as analyzing and correcting underexposure, overexposure and minor color cast problems, bringing out details in the dark and light areas of a photo, and reducing noise caused by high ISO settings in a photo. Other settings can remove the red eye effect caused by camera flash and remove JPEG artifacts often found in low quality or highly compressed JPEG files.
