Paperloop Names Johnston As New CEO

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 1, 2001 - Ian Johnston, a business-to-business publishing executive with extensive international experience in both print and online media, has joined Paperloop as the company's new CEO. He replaces Tim Fazio who moves up to CEO of PL Holdings, Paperloop's parent company. In his new position, Johnston oversees all operations at the leading multimedia information and e-business network for the paper, forestry and converting industries. Prior to joining Paperloop, Johnston was publisher director of several magazines, newsletters, conferences and online portals at Wilmington Publishing in the UK. While there, he had responsibility for 23 trade publications, 8 conferences and 7 international websites serving 7 different industries. Prior to joining Wilmington, Johnston held senior management positions with Maxwell Business Communications and before that, with United Trade Press. He began his publishing career in the advertising and marketing departments at two of London's national newspapers, the Daily Star and Daily Express. Born and raised in Northern Ireland, Johnston is a graduate of the University of Leeds in the UK.
