Wallace Joins Texas Instruments Team Tag-it Program

Press release from the issuing company

DALLAS, Nov. 1 -- Texas Instruments Radio Frequency Identification Systems (TI-RFID) today announced that Wallace, a leading provider of print management services, has joined the Team Tag-it(TM) Program, a partnership of industry-leading companies dedicated to accelerating the development and adoption of RFID smart label solutions. Wallace is implementing RFID technology in its Total Print Management (TPM) program which provides Fortune 1000 customers with the highest quality print products and equipment combined with expert integration, support, and project management. Wallace offers customized RFID labels as well as printers, readers and system integration services for manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, and transportation applications. Wallace will leverage its Team Tag-it partnership to expand RFID printing and software sales in these markets. TI's RFID technology brings a variety of benefits to Wallace offerings. Unlike other automatic identification technologies, RFID provides a contactless data link without the need for line of sight or concerns about harsh or dirty environments. RFID technology is also extremely flexible and can be embedded into a wide variety of materials. RFID smart labels act as data carriers; information can be written to and updated on the label and numerous labels can be read simultaneously. "With the addition of RFID technology to our products and services, our customers can look forward to increased project management efficiency as RFID smart labels go beyond other auto ID technologies and provide instant access to more accurate information,'' said Rich Horvitz, Marketing Manager-RFID for Wallace. "Quicker access to more accurate information leads to better business decisions and a lower cost business model.'' More than 50 hardware and software suppliers, printer, reader and scanner manufacturers, and systems integrators have joined Team Tag-it since it was first established in March 2000. The program assists companies like Wallace in implementing RFID smart label solutions in their customers' businesses. Team Tag-it members participate in marketing, sales and networking opportunities as well as a forum for sharing resources to further strengthen the market infrastructure for RFID smart labels.
