Agfa Renews Contract With Software Partner Hit Internet Technologies
Press release from the issuing company
Mortsel, Belgium - 29 October 2001 - Agfa announced that it will renew its contract with HiT Internet Technologies SpA. The Affi, Italy-based software developer partners with Agfa in the manufacture of Agfa's IntelliNet newspaper workflow software. With over 300 IntelliNet systems installed in 36 countries, Agfa projects it will install another 20 by year's end. The 320 installations represent approximately 1000 seats (workstations) running Agfa's IntelliNet. HiT says it will support Agfa's commitment to provide intelligent workflow systems for newspaper production.
Publishers such as the Wall Street Journal Europe, the Financial Times, the Omaha World-Herald, and the Irish Times use Agfa's IntelliNet workflow to automate and refine the production process.
Agfa IntelliNet Series 2 automates production workflow management via complete planning, comprehensive plate annotating, logging, viewing, page merging and pairing, and output capabilities. Designed to handle the variety of formats newspapers have to deal with, IntelliNet accepts PostScript, PDF, and TIFF files. It accommodates a wide range of newspaper sizes and operations - including editorial sites transmitting to multiple printing locations and printing locations receiving files from multiple editorial sites. It adapts seamlessly to any communications network. And IntelliNet's open-systems approach ensures smooth integration for future growth.
According to Jack Knadjian, Agfa's general manager for newspaper business worldwide, "We have had a long, productive relationship with HiT. The company supports our vision for highly productive, seamless production workflows."
