ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Oct. 26 -- Mail-Well announced today that its Label Division won five awards in the 24th Annual Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI) Award Competition involving 256 entries from 57 companies in North America. Mail-Well Label won awards in a number of distinct categories, covering all converting processes involved in the highly specialized production of pressure-sensitive and non-pressure sensitive labeling applications.
TLMI, headquartered in Naperville, Ill., cited Mail-Well Label for excellence in technical achievement. Judges included TLMI board members, supplier representatives and a Clemson University faculty member.
Specific awards to Mail-Well facilities included:
* Mail-Well's Montreal facility, which won three first-place awards, one for a glue-applied coupon label for a Nestle bottled taco sauce product, another for a Flor de Cana glue-applied label for rum, and the third for a United Distillers and Vintners non-pressure sensitive metallic label for gin.
* The Skokie, Ill., facility, which won first place on a Kraft mayonnaise bottled product for a pressure-sensitive label.
* Mail-Well's Scranton, Pa., facility, which received an honorable mention for an Arizona Iced Tea leaflet.
