AdF@st Signs Up for Online Preflight Solution from Markzware

Press release from the issuing company

SANTA ANA, California -- October 23, 2001 -- AdF@st, the UK Newspaper Society's solution for Internet advertising delivery, has adopted Markzware's MarkzNet, the only web-based preflighting solution capable of checking native document files, PDF and PostScript files via the Internet. Using MarkzNet, printers, repro houses, publishers, studios' and print buyers can offer their customers preflight checks and guidelines at the source, where jobs are automatically and remotely validated before delivery via Internet FTP to the receiving server. AdF@st is an Internet based service deployed by the Newspaper Society, a trade association whose members publish some 1,300 regional newspapers. AdF@st allows the ad agency to send advertisements to a central and secure web site, which then delivers an e-mail to the publisher alerting them to the ad delivery. With Markzware's MarkzNet, any advertisements that are offered to the servers unchecked are pre-flighted to the publishers' exact requirements ensuring error-free, print-ready production. "Our current systems, rolled out to major agencies and repro houses throughout the UK has already been hailed as a great success by users. However, part of the AdF@st brief is to enable smaller artwork creators to send correctly spec'd digital files to our members' titles. We see the MarkzNet pre-flighting solution as an important tool for this phase, helping these clients to easily identify problems with files before transmissison," said Rob Fogwill, AdF@st Technical Support Manager. "With our 'Phase II' launch, AdF@st now provides all the necessary tools to build, check and send PDF files to any of our 1,300 titles with confidence. We are delighted to be able to offer MarkzNet to our users as a part of this major upgrade to our services." Fogwill concluded. "AdF@st's selection of MarkzNet is a tremendous validation of just how powerful our technology is. We are thrilled to be a part of the AdF@st solution. Maintaining quality assurance of digital ads before they are delivered over the Internet is an effective way of saving cost and time, as well as building a sound digital workflow," said David Dilling, Managing Director of Markzware Europe. Dilling concluded with, "It is wise not only for the publisher, but will also help the ad creator catch problems right on their own desktop -- a true win-win." MarkzNet is covered under the MarkzNet preflight Patent with client support for both Macintosh and Windows platforms. The MarkzNet server may be deployed on Macintosh OS/X, Microsoft NT Sun Solaris, Unix or Linux based servers, and most web and FTP servers.
