edocs Announces Support for IBM eServer pSeries 690 and AIX 5L

NATICK, Mass.--Oct. 4, 2001--edocs, Inc., the leading provider of online account management and e-billing, today announced support for the IBM eServer pSeries 690 running the AIX 5L operating system. edocs' eaDirect(TM) will be ported to run on IBM's AIX 5L operating platform. The combination of edocs' eaDirect with the new IBM system provides customers with a highly reliable and scalable infrastructure to support online account management and e-billing.
The porting of edocs' eaSuite(TM) products to support pSeries and AIX 5L, represents a continued cooperation between IBM and edocs of the Global Strategic Alliance which was formally announced in August of this year. In addition to AIX 5L, edocs supports a series of IBM technologies including AIX 4.3.
edocs' eaDirect(TM) is built upon J2EE technology, including support for Enterprise Java Beans(TM) (EJB(TM)) component architecture, Java Server Pages(TM) (JSP(TM)) technology and Java Servlet application programming interfaces (APIs). Supported EJB servers include BEA WebLogic and IBM's WebSphere. EJB support brings users of the eaSuite(TM) sophisticated application management tools, improved performance, scalability, and portability, and will also simplify the process of creating custom extensions to applicationsdeveloped using the eaSuite.
