PIA Hosts American Red Cross Blood Drive

Press release from the issuing company

ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA (September 27, 2001) – A regularly scheduled October 15 staff blood drive at the Printing Industries of America (PIA), Incorporated, has taken on a greater scope in the wake of the September 11 tragedies as more than a dozen neighboring offices are pitching to make sorely needed contributions. "This event was scheduled prior to the September 11th tragedy," said Kimberly Hay, PIA member records coordinator who organized the event. "However, in light of recent events, responses were more than double from area associations that were actively seeking a way to assist the Red Cross. We really appreciate all of their support. It's amazing the number of area associations and other businesses that were willing to donate blood, and their time to pull off this event. We hope to have such a great turnout for future blood drives as the need is always great." The blood drive is being conducted by the Alexandria Chapter of the American Red Cross and lasts from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A single donation can help save up to three lives. To make an appointment to give blood, please contact Hay at PIA by calling 703/519-8118, or email [email protected].
