Charlesworth Group Chooses Indigo Platinum for Premium Quality Print
Press release from the issuing company
London, UK, September 24, 2001 - H Charlesworth and Co. Ltd. of Huddersfield, has installed a fully specified six-color Indigo Platinum Digital Offset Color Press for the production of short run, high quality commercial printing work.
One of the first customers in the UK to install Indigo’s newest digital press, the company plans to offer digital services to its numerous customers including Blackwell Publishing, Oxford University Press and many other scientific publishers and learned societies.
"We chose the Platinum press because of the quality of the print that can be produced and the reputation of Indigo in the marketplace. As a new product with the latest advances in digital technology we are confident it will provide us with excellent opportunities in our market," commented Graham Lawley, Managing Director at H Charlesworth and Co.
He continued, "This installation is the first part of our plan to see how digital printing fits in with our existing clients. At the present time we have clients in the academic publishing field for which we produce journals. Having the ability to produce these in even shorter runs but still at high quality and relatively low cost is an obvious advantage for them."
"With the installation of the Platinum we will also be able to offer many services that have not previously been possible with our existing equipment. Not only will we be able to produce cost effective digital printing but we will also be able to offer full color personalization – an area which is in much demand for short run printing."
The Platinum is fully specified with Indigo’s Swift Native Accelerated Personalization (SNAP) software for full personalization and is also capable of duplex printing and electronic collation. The high image quality is a result of Indigo’s new laser writing head development called Image Tracking Technology (ITT). This breakthrough capability enables the imaging lasers to precisely lock on to the surface motion of the Photo Imaging Plate (PIP), creating high resolution images and highly uniform tints and solids.
Lawley said, "Primarily this installation will give our current customers a digital print option, but we hope to attract a variety of new customers from across the end user commercial sector now that we have broadened our services."
