ITEC Announces Release of ColorBlind Professional and Matchbox
Press release from the issuing company
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 26 -- Imaging Technologies Corporation, a leading manufacturer of color management software, today announced the release of ColorBlind Professional and Matchbox 4.2 for Mac and 4.0 for Windows. The Mac products are available immediately while the Windows version will ship next week. All products will be sold as stand-alone products or bundled with Color Management and application training at the ITEC ColorBlind Academy.
ColorBlind Professional, an advanced ICC profiling software, is targeted at color professionals who demand accurate color and complete control over all aspects of a digital color workflow. Typical users include service bureaus, newspapers, digital pre-press and design studios.
ColorBlind Matchbox, like Professional is also a complete ICC color workflow software which works with input and output devices and monitors. Matchbox is a more economical package for smaller commercial and corporate users.
The new versions of ColorBlind Professional and Matchbox expand compatibility with today's latest technology, operating systems and new color measurement instruments including Spectrostar, Gretag MacBeth, X-Rite and Barbieri Electronics' Barbieri XY 100.
"These new features are the result of feedback from customers, channel partners and industry consultants. Users of these new versions will benefit from enhanced user Interface, updated Pantone Libraries and support for ColorChecker DC digital camera target,'' said Brian Bonar, ITEC CEO.
The new ColorBlind Professional versions also include Edit Server which is a powerful color-correction and image enhancement application that allows image editing via attached ICC profiles without affecting the actual raw data. Equally important, Edit Server adds the ability to batch process files in hot folders to automate the application of edited profiles to multiple images.
The new ColorBlind versions are the first to be compatible with Coloreal color matching technology invented by WayTech Development. "Coloreal provides unparalleled color accuracy from the Internet to the personal computer. More consistent, true-to-life colors translate into better on-line shopping experiences for customers and reduced costs for e-commerce Web sites,'' said Jo Kirkenaer, Director of Color Science at WayTech Development. The new versions of ColorBlind software provide Coloreal-enabled Web sites with the color management tools necessary to support the Coloreal Internet standard.
ITEC is the first manufacturer to provide color management software and color management / application training at bundled prices available through its reseller channel. ITEC's ColorBlind Academy offers certification programs for users, trainers and resellers. These programs cover color management theory and graphic programs in real world applications. ColorBlind Professional software bundled with a 2-day application-training program or a 3-day color management and application-training program is priced at a significant discount from independent purchase.
