Cary Printing Wins Gold At Environmental Excellence Awards

Press release from the issuing company

Morrisville, NC September 22, 2008 – Penton Media's AMERICAN PRINTER magazine, a leading source for business trends and technical innovations shaping the commercial printing industry, recently announced the winners of its inaugural Environmental Excellence Awards program. Cary Printing won the Gold Award for the Best Environmentally Produced Product for a commercial printer in its category. The Environmental Excellence Awards recognize commercial printers who are leading the industry in environmentally conscious manufacturing.
The product printed by Cary Printing was The Colton Review for Meredith College of Raleigh, NC.  The Colton Review  is Meredith College's annual literary and art journal.

Meredith College had a goal to print their book green, while reducing printing costs. Cary Printing's Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Mark Bryant, conveyed "that the planning and production team at Cary Printing made suggestions to reduce the actual physical size of The Colton Review.  This resulted in paper savings. The journal was then printed as green certified and saved thousands of pounds of wood."
