Versatile A.B. Dick QP25 & QP25II Address Needs For Short-Run Color Market
Press release from the issuing company
CHICAGO, IL -- The industry leader has done it again. A.B.Dick Company has developed a reputation over the years for delivering innovative and dynamic offset presses. Based on the response of quick print and small to mid-sized printers who saw a preview at Gutenberg in May, the new A.B.Dick QP25 and QP25II one and two-color units will attract plenty of attention in booth #3329 at the Print 01 show, September 6-13 in Chicago.
Company officials believe these presses are the absolute solution for the growing, short-run multiple-color market. Delivery and installation to the first customers began in July.
"We anticipate these presses will be successful in the marketplace for several reasons," explained Dennis James, Product Planning Manager for the QP25. "First, customers know we are the industry leader in traditional offset equipment. They are very aware of the quality and performance levels of these presses and use A.B.Dick as a measuring stick when look-ing at competing models. Second, printers look at productivity, durability and cost effective- ness. One look at our track record and they know what they are getting, and for how long."
One of the most unique features of the A.B.Dick QP25 and QP25II is the patented "Constant Contact Register System". It combines the significant advantages of direct feed with an impressive tight register system, giving operators full control over image position. The QP25II also features a newly designed second color head. Perfect for fast turnaround work, it delivers high quality performance with four-color process, screens and halftones of images up to 12 1/2" by 17.3".
The QP25 and QP25II have many outstanding benefits to offer. A revolutionary patent-pending micro-set ink fountain means easy set-up of variable ink coverage for first-time jobs. The high capacity inker is calibrated to control ink density in specific coverage areas. An ink clean-up attachment also allows for fast, 90-second ink roller color washes.
A Varn Kompac II continuous dampener features a patented auto recovery moisture system that delivers sharp, dense images using a wide range of inks.
A quick-set dual feeder system helps simplify operations and improves productivity with features like a new paper pile support, which expands and contracts to eliminate the use of different size pile boards. The dual paper guides and quick release side guides give these presses the ability to change stock size in seconds. This increases production time while reducing paper waste, therefore saving both time and money.
