CHICAGO -Sept. 7, 2001--Oce Printing Systems USA, Inc. significantly expands its position in the graphic arts marketplace through a strategic alliance with MAN Roland, the second largest offset press provider in the world. The relationship greatly increases the scope of digital systems, service and support available to MAN Roland's traditional US customer base of graphic arts and commercial printers. Digital color is rapidly transforming the commercial printing marketplace, creating attractive opportunities for new revenue. As traditional offset operations seek digital color capabilities, MAN Roland is teaming up with Oce to provide the best results for customers as quickly as possible. The MAN Roland DICOpress, DICOpage and DICOpack digital color printing systems, based on Xeikon technology, will be available in the US in association with Oce and Xeikon America Inc. Oce entered into a reseller agreement with Xeikon America, Inc in December 2000 to sell and support Xeikon branded digital color printing solutions. This agreement has now been expanded to include the DICO family of products to help MAN Roland ramp up the DICO color market in the USA through established partners who understand digital output and opportunities. Already a leader in the digital printing world, Oce assumes a greater role in bringing digital color to the graphic arts and commercial printing arena, at a critical time when these markets are rapidly moving toward digital capabilities to maintain competitiveness. Oce will supply support to DICO installations across the U.S., with responsibility for installation, training, service and 24/7 technical expertise.
