Epson and EFI Release Two New Printing Solutions For Creative Professionals

CHICAGO--Sept. 6, 2001--Epson America, creator of high-quality, award-winning imaging products, and Electronics For Imaging Inc. (EFI), the world leader in enabling networked printing solutions, today announced two new solutions for graphics arts professionals: the EPSON Stylus Pro 5500 and EPSON Stylus Pro 10000.
Both printers incorporate EFI RIPs for high quality color output including the Fiery Spark(TM) Designer for the EPSON Stylus Pro 5500 and the FierySpark Professional for both the Stylus Pro 5500 and Stylus Pro 10000.
Epson's advanced printing hardware combines with EFI's powerful Fierycontroller technology to give creative professionals effective ways to present their graphical ideas. The Stylus Pro 5500 and Stylus Pro 10000 enable users to create color-confident Adobe PostScript 3 output and simplify many day-to-day challenges associated with intense design work.

The EPSON Stylus Pro 5500 with the Fiery Spark Designer RIP offers PANTONE color matching, full Macintosh OS 8.5.1 through 9.x compatibility, out-of-box color matching and the all-new Fiery Spark User Interface.
The EPSON Stylus Pro 10000 and Stylus Pro 5500 printers work in conjunction with the Fiery Spark Professional RIP and feature fully configurable Windows 2000 Professional software, EFI ColorWisePro Tools 2.0, a new color setup dialog with a more intuitive userinterface, and high performance network connectivity that supports printing from both Mac and PC platforms.
