Zaandam, The Netherlands (October 1, 2008) – Johnny H. Thøgersen put it best: "I am really happy to be back to my roots." Thøgersen, the former Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at CCI Europe, has joined WoodWing Software as Vice President – Business Development. He brings with him a diverse background that includes decades of experience in the publishing software industry. Thøgersen is returning to the field after a couple of years in the graphic arts industry.
"With his track record of 20 years of success in this industry, we know Johnny is the perfect addition to our team, to further strengthen our position in the newspaper market," said Hans Janssen, CEO of WoodWing Software. "He has an excellent understanding of the customers' needs, and he knows where the publishing industry is heading. That's one of the reasons he and WoodWing make an excellent fit."
Before launching his career in the publishing industry, Thøgersen was an intelligence office in the Royal Danish Air Force. He joined CCI Europe in the late 1980s, where he was instrumental in CCI's successful introduction to the newspaper industry. In the early '90s, Thøgersen started what later became the most successful publishing software enterprise in recent years, CCI US. After a couple of years of building a U.S. marketplace for CCI Europe, he was appointed to a seat on the CCI Europe Board of Management, where he assumed the overall responsibility for sales, project management, customer service management, research and strategy.
"I am really happy to be back to my roots," Thøgersen said. "When I was contacted by WoodWing Software, I was honored and very happy. I have known the senior management team for many years and I know what they stand for. For almost a decade, I have been following WoodWing's development closely. They've made one excellent decision after another in building a corporation that more than any company in this industry is positioned to deal with growth and innovation in a constantly changing marketplace. WoodWing is helping its customers prepare for the future, and I'm proud to be part of that effort."
