Weyerhaeuser Closing to Public Access to Tree Farms, Sites Fire Risk

Press release from the issuing company

FEDERAL WAY, Wash.--Aug. 17, 2001--Weyerhaeuser's Snoqualmie and White River Tree Farms are closing immediately for all recreational use due to fire danger. There will be no foot, horse or vehicle access until significant rain has fallen. The decision came as a result of the State Department of Natural Resources increasing the fire caution level. Also, there is a lack of fire-fighting resources on the west side of the Cascades since most are committed to the major blazes in eastern Washington and Oregon.
