Constance, Germany, August 13, 2001 — Oce Document Technologies GmbH (ODT) in Constance and Saperion AG in Berlin will work together closely in the future. The goal of this collaboration is to provide comprehensive solutions for document and knowledge management. To this end, Oce Document Technologies will incorporate the archiving system of Saperion in its product portfolio, and in return Saperion will include the product DOKuStar in its solutions. Document management systems collect data about documents and their contents, organise and store them, and produce new documents on the basis of the information extracted. Through the cooperation with Saperion, Oce Document Technologies is closing the "circle of information," consisting of document input, document management and document output. "Thanks to Saperion´s comprehensive archiving solution, we are not only a specialist for data collection and character recognition, we can now also position ourselves as a partner for complete document management solutions," says Dr. Gerhard Wustmann, head of Business Operations at Oce Document Technologies. "We´ve been successfully using Oce Document Technologies´ character recognition software RecoStar Professional in our systems for many years," says Dr. Mathias Petri, Sales and Marketing Director at Saperion AG. "In the future, we will also offer their DOKuStar software for automatically classifying and indexing documents." They can thus be processed in data-processing, document management, workflow, archiving and imaging applications. The Saperion product line comprises an integrated software package for data collection, digital signatures, archiving and DocFlow.
