ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA (August 27, 2001) – The Web Printing Association (WPA) hosts its 23rd Annual Management and Technical Conference entitled, Print, Paper, Profit, Purpose…Coldset/Non-Heatset Printing is Turning "up" (not "on") the Heat! This annual conference will be held on October 6-10, 2001 at The Nugget in Reno, Nevada.
Attendees can expect ample opportunity for professional development, technical enhancement, business growth, and peer networking. Featured speakers include Jon Markey, president of The Record based in Hackensack, New Jersey, and Mark Mikolajczyk, vice president of production with Gannett, Incorporated, Arlington, Virginia. The two will share the solutions to the problems they encounter in the workplace.
The Annual Conference offers sessions on productivity, e-space, workflow, safety and environmental issues, and several other topics pertaining to the coldset/non-heatset web printer. A successful program continued and expanded from last year is the special track for the local community newspaper segment. Sessions in this track will focus on achieving color quality, pricing, training, and entering a commercial market.
A highlight of the conference is the WPA Annual Print Awards Ceremony. On Monday, October 8, the "best of the best" in coldset/non-heatset printing will be recognized. During a special lunch time ceremony, 39 awards in 13 categories will be presented.
