Chicago, IL (September 16, 2008) – GPA announces the winners of their annual Printed Sample Contest. For the fourth year in a row, printers across the country competed in six categories for Best of Category, and from those, one was selected as Best of Show.

For a printed piece to be eligible, it must be from an actual job or promotion that was printed by a GPA customer on a qualified GPA substrate. This year, judges received over 80 submissions. Contest winners received a prize along with a framed copy of the winning entry. The entries were submitted under six different categories and this year's winners for Best of Category are:

Ultra Film Non-Adhesive Films – Megee Print & Document Solutions of Kalamazoo, MI with a customized pick guard for guitars

Ultra Film Pressure Sensitive Films – Classic Litho of Torrance, CA with two-sized Skechers retail window signs

Ultra Bak Plus Pressure Sensitive Papers – Anderson Printing of Los Angeles, CA with promotional stickers for the movie Wall-E

Ultra Digital Films – Camera Works in Salem, NH with "Boom Boom Revolution," a children's good deed, pay-it-forward card game

Ultra Digital Papers – White House Custom Colour in Eagan, MN with a baby announcement on shimmering Pearl stock 

Ultra Digital Pressure Sensitive Papers – Engage Marketing in Chatsworth, CA for a Valentines Day candy gram, used as a personalized direct mail piece

Megee Print and Document Solutions won Best of Show for their unique custom guitar pick guards, printed on GPA's 20 Mil white styrene. Megee chose this material because it is durable, cuts easily and holds color well. Guitarists across the country are currently using these pick guards as a no-hassle, cost-effective way to express themselves and personalize their guitars with graphic images or band logos.

GPA's Printed Sample Contest is a great opportunity for printers to showcase their best work. Each year the competition grows bigger and better, yielding new and innovative examples of the opportunities available with GPA substrates.
