Presstek Revamps DIdirectory.com, One Stop Online Resource for Designers

Press release from the issuing company

Hudson, NH June 29, 2001 Presstek, Inc., the leading developer of thermal direct imaging and printing plate technologies for the printing and graphic arts industries, today launches the revamped version of www.DIdirectory.com, a comprehensive online resource for Direct Imaging (DI®) information, applications, technology and resources for graphic designers. The goal of www.DIdirectory.com is to provide a one-stop resource for graphic designers for technology info, how-to's, as well as to offer a platform for content creators to showcase and communicate ideas, suggestions, etc. with their peers. Features of the site include information on the latest DI technologies, a worldwide DI printer directory, a DI library, and "how-they-did-it" user stories. A "Featured Designers" section offers profiles of individuals and companies who have successfully utilized DI technology in their work. Visitors to the site are invited to post their DI projects, while contests and other opportunities are planned to provide a place for people to display their work. Presstek's marketing communications manager Brian Wolfenden explains that it was feedback and requests from graphic artists, print buyers and DI press owners that led the company to start focusing on a program for content creators and print buyers about DI. Says Wolfenden, "The site will become a central resource for designers to find information and ideas quickly and easily. We're working hard to provide content that delivers real value. We hope to fill a gap by providing educational information, resource links, as well as offering a voice to, and for, graphic designers to learn how others are utilizing DI successfully. The site will continually evolve to best meet the interests of the graphics arts community." Designers interested in further details are invited to visit www.DIdirectory.com. Also, current Presstek DI-enabled printers interested in having their info included in the directory section can log onto the site to register.
