Showcasing the latest décor material designs, diverse applications, and a redesigned global website
Tokyo – TOPPAN Inc. (TOPPAN), a TOPPAN Group company and wholly owned subsidiary of TOPPAN Holdings Inc., and FOSHAN TAJIE DECORATION MATERIAL CO., LTD. (FOSHAN TAJIE) will participate in Guangzhou Designweek 2024, which will be held from December 6 to 9 in Guangzhou, China.
TOPPAN caters to global markets in its décor materials business, designing and developing products matched to the quality requirements and environmental needs of each region. As a showcase for the Chinese interior industry, at Guangzhou Designweek TOPPAN will present interior design and décor materials fusing modern designs with those that draw beauty from tranquility, typified by Japanese minimalism. Coinciding with the event, TOPPAN will also launch a redesigned global website for its Environmental Design business.
Background
The Chinese market has seen increasing demand for sustainable building and furniture materials in recent years. There is particular demand for alternatives to wood veneers that can reduce environmental impact while retaining the texture and high-quality look of natural materials, but reproduction of such features remains technically challenging. TOPPAN drives new possibilities in the fields of construction and furniture with Decorative NON-PVC Film and melamine laminates, which offer textures close to those of natural wood veneers, together with durability.
By participating in Guangzhou Designweek, TOPPAN will strengthen collaboration with distributors and accelerate its penetration with leading manufactures of furniture and building materials. With Decorative NON-PVC Film and melamine laminates, TOPPAN is targeting significant growth in the commercial sector by addressing issues faced by the industry in terms of balancing sustainability with high-quality design. By providing highly functional décor materials, TOPPAN will continue to expand its presence in the Chinese market and drive a sustainable future.
Main solutions on show
Model space for the Chinese market using the latest décor materials and Decorative NON-PVC Film
TOPPAN will present an interior space for China to residential and commercial facility interior designers from the Chinese market’s leading furniture manufacturers and design studios. The model space in the Japandi style (blending Zen and Scandinavian style), which is also popular in China, will deliver an experience of sophisticated design, showcasing furniture and wall panels using Decorative NON-PVC Film and melamine laminates (décor papers) for spatial design of housing and commercial facilities.
In a collaboration with Chinese luxury interior brand SUHO HOME (https://www.suhohome.com/), TOPPAN will also display products used widely in interiors for residential and commercial applications. Folding-screen-style fittings using Decorative NON-PVC Film are likely to be a focus of particular attention as a new endeavor requiring sophisticated processing technology to weave delicate lattices.
Decorative NON-PVC Film
Targeted at the furniture and interior industries, Decorative NON-PVC Film is a decorative sheet for use in the residential and commercial sectors. An original film using an olefin-based (non-PVC) material, it limits generation of harmful substances when incinerated and combines high-quality design with processability.
Based on interior trend insights from regions around the world, TOPPAN provides sophisticated design focused on future lifestyles to allow consumers to experience new possibilities in spatial design. TOPPAN carefully selects the latest highly versatile designs to expand sales as part of its Premium Surface Collection (PSC).
Melamine laminates
These are decorative laminates that use TOPPAN’s décor paper for the commercial and residential interior industries. Sophisticated designs including wood, stone, and abstract paintings are printed on special papers containing titanium dioxide, and heat and pressure are applied after resin impregnation to transform them into highly durable resin laminates. Attractive and durable, these laminates can be used for a wide range of applications, including counter tops, wall panels, furniture, and flooring.
Redesigned global website for décor materials business
The new website features roughly twenty-two times as much text information and five times as many images as its previous incarnation. It is also available in five languages, including Chinese, to deliver an enhanced user experience. The latest web technologies have been employed to achieve more intuitive, user-friendly navigation and attractive design, enabling customers the world over to find the information they need quickly and easily.
Up-to-date information on products is featured alongside interior scenes demonstrating how they can be used. Content on the latest interior styles is delivered based on data from original research from the perspective of CMF+P (Color/Material/Finish/Pattern). The new global site is scheduled to launch on November 25. TOPPAN plans to add further improvements and new functions to make the site a hub for providing information and expanding communication with designers and other customers throughout the world.
