Korozo Group to Participate at Sustainability in Packaging Europe 2024

Press release from the issuing company

International flexible packaging and films specialist, Korozo Group, is delighted to be taking part in the Sustainability in Packaging Europe conference next week, where it will partner with Borealis and Henkel to detail their collaborative work to create sustainable and circular packaging solutions.

Sustainability in Packaging Europe 2024 takes place October 8-10 in Barcelona, Spain. At the event, Korozo Group’s Technical Account Manager, Fatih Imre, will take to the stage alongside Chantal Semaan, Application Technology Manager at Borealis, to discuss their collaborative work to create sustainable packaging for Henkel’s brand-name detergents. Joining them is Isabella Bodin Carloni, Packaging Engineer in R&D, Laundry Packaging at Henkel.

Their joint presentation, on the second day of the three-day conference, is entitled, “The future of plastic packaging: Showcase of a high-end full PE pouch containing PCR through collaboration across the value chain.” It is based around their recent work to develop mono-material films that feature 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content.

Fatih said: “We know that the journey to circularity is not easy or straightforward, but also know exactly how important it is. Only be doing and delivering are we able to demonstrate that we can walk the walk, not just talk the talk. With Borealis and Henkel, we have done just that.

“I look forward to sharing this success with attendees at Sustainability in Packaging Europe and helping the packaging industry on its journey to a sustainable and circular future.”

Their presentation is part of an overall track at the conference focused on PCR. FMCG giant Mondel?z International and global consultancies Meo Carbon Solutions and Roland Berger are also to address this pressing topic in their sessions.

Organised by Smithers, this is to be the ninth edition of the conference that is focused solely on sustainability in packaging. Attracting more than 600 delegates, it is Europe's largest sustainable packaging event.

Fatih added: “Sustainability in Packaging Europe is the perfect place for us to showcase the value of collaboration in delivering sustainability and fully circular solutions."
