Mikkelsen Innovation Launches FastSewn Automated Cutting and Sewing Solution

Press release from the issuing company

We are proud to present for the first time in the Americas: FastSewn: Cutting and Sewing directly from rolls in one fully automated system

Aarhus, Denmark & Scottsdale, Arizona USA—Mikkelsen Innovation ApS is proud to announce the development of our latest innovation: the first fully automated sewing and finishing system. Leveraging our long history of pioneering technology, this new system integrates advanced flatbed cutters that can now finish 2D graphics into any required contour. At Texprocess 2024 in Frankfurt, we displayed this innovation—an integrated laser cutting and sewing system—which won an award for Economic Quality Innovation. By utilizing a patent-pending innovative conveyor deviation, we can add sewing capabilities, requiring access to the sewn material from two sides to the capabilities we have all gotten to know about flatbed cutting solutions

Many of you will remember our early work in the 2000s with i-cut®, when our team at Mikkelsen Graphic Engineering (MGE) introduced cutting-edge software and sheet feeders that are still in production today. After MGE was sold to Kongsberg Precision Cutters in 2008, we continued our innovation journey, bringing you even more advanced solutions.

Our next venture led to MCT’s Versatech lasers and cutters—the first system to allow both laser and knife cutting, as well as routing, from rolls or flat goods. After Gerber Technology acquired the company in 2018, many of you continued to support our innovations, and we are grateful for your loyalty.

Now, we are taking things even further with our newest venture. Drawing on years of experience with flatbed cutting technology, we have developed the FASTSEWN Flatbed, a system that allows one or more layers of rolled goods to be conveyed onto a flatbed table, where they can be automatically sewn and laser cut into virtually any 2D contour. This breakthrough allows multiple shapes and sizes to processed on the same system without the need for holding the textiles in frames. This creates new opportunities for speed, precision, and efficiency.

Please stop by the VTX Cutting Tools Booth, C935, at Printing United. Steen Mikkelsen, Nikolai Mikkelsen and Steve Aranoff, the Co-Founders will be available to show what we have achieved with this innovative technology. It is the perfect opportunity to see how this new system could help the re-shoring of textile manufacturing and its benefits to your own production capability.

We look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas next week! If not, feel please visit our website at www.fastsewn.com, check out our FASTSEWN YouTube channel www.youtube.com, or email us for more information. We’d love to hear from you!
