Kodak Polychrome Graphics Introduces Red Donor for Approval Type 2 Media
Press release from the issuing company
Norwalk, Connecticut, U.S.A. – Kodak Polychrome Graphics is expanding the capabilities of its Kodak Approval Type 2 proofing media for proofing-enabled platesetters with the full commercialization of spot color Red Donor.
The new red donor allows users to represent an alternate fifth plate color on the proof. Its introduction is the first of a series of auxiliary color materials serving Approval Type 2 users.
"The availability of spot color donors, beginning with this red donor, will benefit current users of Approval Type 2 media and attract new customers to this product," says Jerry Willer, Worldwide Product Line Manager, Digital Halftone Proofing, Kodak Polychrome Graphics. "Additional donors make Approval Type 2 media an attractive product for those who use platesetters as either their primary or backup proofing device."
Approval Type 2 Red Donor enables convenient representation of fifth color files, varnishes, or die cut lines. It is certified for use with all Approval Type 2 enabled systems and is available immediately.
New shipments of Kodak Approval Type 2 enabled platesetting systems will be set up for use of the new red spot color donor. Existing systems can be field upgraded by a service technician.
Red Donor will be supplied in 4-page and 8-page configurations. In the event that additional sizes are set up on Approval Type 2 for new imaging systems, these additional sizes will also be added to the Approval Type 2 Red donor, as well.
