Interlink Electronics and EFI Announce Alliance

Press release from the issuing company

CAMARILLO, CA AND FOSTER CITY, CA (June 12, 2001) – Interlink Electronics, Inc. (NASDAQ: LINK), the world’s leading developer of intuitive interface technologies and solutions for home and business applications, and Electronics for Imaging (NASDAQ: EFII), a world leader in enabling networked printing solutions, today announced an alliance to develop a new family of business communications whiteboard products. FreeBeam, the first product to be developed by the two companies, will be demonstrated at this week’s INFOCOMM International 2001—a business communications industry trade show held in Las Vegas from June 13 through June 15. FreeBeam is the world’s first wireless digital whiteboard conversion solution. Combining Interlink’s proprietary RemoteLink wireless technology and EFI’s eBeam digital whiteboard appliance, it allows meeting room users to cost-effectively convert any traditional whiteboard into a wireless electronic whiteboard, recording pen input and transmitting it to a PC anywhere in the meeting room. Interlink will market FreeBeam through its business communications reseller and OEM distribution channels, as well as offering the product direct online. First shipments are forecast for September, 2001. “Our strategic alliance with EFI further strengthens Interlink’s position as the world’s leading supplier of business communications interface technologies and solutions,” said Jim Reisteter, vice president of sales and marketing for business communications at Interlink Electronics. “More than thirty million whiteboards currently are installed worldwide, and hundreds of thousands are sold each year. Those numbers reflect a growing industry trend of whiteboards being used in meetings and presentations around the world.” “We are pleased to partner with Interlink Electronics to bring a new category of eBeam digital whiteboard products to the marketplace,” said Rafi Holtzman, general manager of eBeam. “The fusion of eBeam’s and Interlink’s technologies has created a more dynamic solution that will give users greater flexibility in creating effective conference room and meeting environments.”
