Prodigi Acquires Peecho to Expand Global Print on Demand Capabilities

Press release from the issuing company

London, UK – Prodigi, a global print on demand leader, today announced its acquisition of Peecho, an Amsterdam-based innovator in cloud printing solutions.

Prodigi, a leading global print on demand platform, today announced the acquisition of Amsterdam-based Peecho, a cloud printing solutions provider, as part of its ongoing strategy to strengthen its position in the rapidly growing market. The deal marks Prodigi's third acquisition, following its purchase of Kite from Canon in 2019, as the 100% bootstrapped business continues to expand its global footprint and diversify its product offerings.

Founded in 2009, Peecho enables platforms featuring user-generated content to seamlessly integrate print on demand modules directly into their apps or interfaces, allowing them to offer personalised products such as photo books and commercial print products, including office stationery, business cards, flyers, and promotional materials. By acquiring Peecho, Prodigi aims to capitalise on new market opportunities and cater to a broader range of clients.

"The print on demand industry is at an inflection point, and we're thrilled to be driving this transformation," said James Old, founder and CEO of Prodigi. "By integrating Peecho's innovative technology with our global reach and expertise, we're well-positioned to redefine what's possible for the sector. This acquisition is about more than just growth; it's about pushing the boundaries and creating new opportunities for businesses and creators worldwide.”

Peecho has been experiencing strong, profitable growth, with year-on-year revenues exceeding 40%. However, scaling people, systems and software inevitably presents challenges. Prodigi, with its larger scale and resources, has already addressed many of these issues within its own operations. The acquisition will allow Peecho to bypass these hurdles, maintaining its upward trajectory.

"The print on demand landscape is evolving at a rapid pace, driven by advancements in technology and a growing appetite for customisation," noted Old. "While it's already almost a cliché to mention AI, we're witnessing its transformative impact firsthand as it revolutionises the way our users visualise and personalise products. Simultaneously, it’s fuelling exponential growth in the creation of original content, which is driving a significant increase in demand for simple, accessible print on demand solutions. Our partnership with Peecho will enable us to better serve corporates, creatives, and consumers alike, empowering them to navigate and capitalise on these exciting changes in our industry."

Peecho CEO Eric Kickert, who joins Prodigi's board as COO, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition: "Joining forces with Prodigi is a game-changer for us. With their global reach, technological prowess, and shared vision for the future of print on demand, we're already seeing this partnership unlock new opportunities and help us achieve our full potential. Together, we're going to redefine what's possible in this exciting and rapidly evolving industry."

With over 100 print partners in dozens of countries as well as three in-house print facilities in the UK, US, and mainland Europe, Prodigi has established itself as a key player in the print on demand industry since its founding in 2014. The acquisition of Peecho further solidifies its position and sets the stage for continued growth and innovation.
